 Jane A. Storm, MS, RN, BC
Jane is a trainer and consultant with Mathews Associates. She has over 31 years of experience in healthcare, and maintains current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
Jane has served as a Staff Development Specialist in acute care for the past 19 years. She has received a Baccalaureate degree in Professional Arts with a concentration in Education, as well as a Master of Science degree in Community Health Administration and Wellness Promotion. She maintains current certification in Professional Nursing Development (formerly Nursing Continuing Education and Staff Development) through the American Nurses' Credentialing Center.
Jane was chosen by her educational colleagues to be the recipient of the Nursing Excellence award in 1992. Jane currently serves as coordinator of American Heart Association Training Center for Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support; and also for the American Safety and Health Institute for Basic First Aid. She has been appointed as Regional Faculty by the American Heart Association for the past 9 years.
Jane has been acknowledged on numerous occasions for her volunteer service by the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. She is also a certified trainer through Development Dimensions International, and has extensive experience in customer service training. Jane is a member of a multidisciplinary team which provides consultation services regarding ethical issues. She has also been requested to facilitate the mediation of conflicts among staff members and has served on the Employee Grievance Board. She has provided performance consulting services for staff and managers, enabling them to identify performance gaps and develop plans to meet performance expectations. She specializes in the areas of stress management, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
Jane has excellent listening skills, and demonstrates much patience in the interactive learning process. She has honed her ability to effectively facilitate learning by simplifying complex information.
Jane tremendously enjoys working with adults, and incorporates the principles of adult learning in all of her programs. Her ability to actively involve the learners through the use of creative teaching techniques facilitates the transfer of knowledge to their real-life environment. She believes in the wonderful ability of individuals to create powerful changes in their lives through education.
